PEOPLE MOVES: Aviva, Novia Global, Investec AM

Aviva chief executive in shock departure

PEOPLE MOVES: KPMG, Investors Trust, Carrick

Aviva

Aviva chief executive Mark Wilson announced on 9 October that he is stepping down, effective immediately. He assumed the role in January 2013 and will remain with the group until April 2019 to assist with the transition.

The insurance firm said it was “time for new leadership to take the group to the next phase of its development”.

According to the BBC, Wilson will walk away with a pay and benefits package of up to £6.5m ($8.5m, €7.4m).

The search for a successor will commence immediately, Aviva said. Both internal and external candidates will be considered, and the process is expected to complete within four months.

The responsibilities of the chief executive will be undertaken by non-executive chairman Adrian Montague until a replacement is named.

Novia Global

Paul Forman has been named business development director at Novia Global, where he has been tasked with expanding the sales team. He brings with him over 30 years of financial services experience.

Forman started his career at Royal Life before joining Momentum Pensions as director and head of sales, Europe. His responsibilities included the promotion of a UK Sipp and Qrops pension propositions as well as being a contact point for distribution partners who would include DFMs, investment fund groups, platforms and international life offices.

Investec Asset Management

Alasdair Prescott has joined Investec’s 18-strong UK adviser business in the newly-created role of head of UK Advisor & Strategic Partners. He will lead the firm’s strategic partnerships, sub-advisory relationships and dialogue with clients across its regional UK footprint.

Prescott joins rom Aviva where he was head of London wholesale sales, representing the firm’s product suite to UK discretionary clients. Prior to that he spent over six years at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Legal & General Investment Management

LGIM has named Richard Lee as chief financial officer. Since joining Legal & General in 1997, Lee has held a number of roles across the organisations, most recently group performance director for the group.

He will be taking over from Siobhan Boylan, who announced in August that she was leaving LGIM to join Brewin Dolphin as finance director.

Artemis Investment Management

Deloitte’s Ross Millar is to join Artemis as a partner and chief risk officer in December. He currently leads Deloitte’s investment management risk advisory practice for Emea, having joined the Big Four’ accounting giant in 2006.

T Rowe Price

Global asset manager T Rowe Price has appointed Manon Savelkouls to its relationships management team in the Netherlands. She joins from Blackrock, where she spent over a decade as director – sales and relationship management.

In the newly-created role, Savelkouls will be based in Amsterdam and build relationships with institutional and intermediary clients and prospects.

Carey Olsen

Offshore law firm Carey Olsen has appointed Bernadette Carey to head up its trusts and private wealth practice across the British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands.

She joins from another offshore law firm in the Cayman Islands and has a broad private client practice advising on wealth structuring and estate planning matters, including the administration, restructuring and termination of trusts, as well as probate and testamentary issues.
