PEOPLE MOVES: Ashburton, Deutsche Bank, Praemium

CIO named at investment firm and COO exits German bank

Ashburton Investments

Patrice Rassou is to join Ashburton Investments as chief investment officer effective from April 2020.

He was previously head of equities at Sanlam Investment Managers.

Rassou’s appointment follows another recent c-suite hire, with Sizwe Nxedlana taking on the role of chief executive.

Deutsche Bank

John Saunders has stepped down from his position as chief operating officer at Deutsche Bank UK and Wealth Management.

He will be joining financial services start-up Monument, but his role was not confirmed.

Adrian Edwards will succeed him from 1 November 2019.

He has been with the German Bank since 1998 and he currently works as the firm’s programme manager for the UK transformation programme and regulated mortgages.

Praemium

Bianca Jacques has been named head of platform at Praemium for the international business, based in Jersey.

She will be responsible for the performance and growth of the firm’s international business and for the overall operational effectiveness.

Jacques joins from Brewin Dolphin where she was a business development manager for the Channel Islands.

Axa Investment Managers

Andrea Rossi is stepping down from the top job on 1 December 2019, after leading the firm since 2013.

Gérald Harlin will take on the role of executive chairman, effective on the same day, and Rossi will act as a special adviser to Harlin.

JM Finn

The UK-based wealth management firm has recruited Luke Powell as a business development manager focussing on building relationships with financial advisers.

He joins from Legal & General Investment Management where he worked as a sales manager.

Lombard Odier

The Swiss global wealth and asset manager has hired Andreas Arni as head of the Zurich office and head of Switzerland, a newly created role.

The appointment will be effective from 1 December 2019 as he joins from Credit Suisse where he served as head of entrepreneurs and executives, Switzerland.

BNP Paribas Asset Management

The asset management arm of BNP Paribas has promoted Arnaud Schwebel to global head of the newly created retirement solutions department.

He was previously head of strategy, corporate development and public affairs at BNP Paribas AM.

Schwebel is also a director of European provider of investment advisory digital solutions Gambit.

Alpha FMC

The wealth and asset management consulting firm has rolled out a pensions and retail investments practice and has named Bruce Davies and Dan Mahony as directors to run the business.

Both Davies and Mahony join from EY where they served as head of life, pensions and investments transformation and head of relationships for the Life and Pensions department, respectively.

Tilney

The wealth management group has expanded its Belfast team with three hires.

Simon Martin has been promoted to director of financial planning, after working for three years as a financial planner at the firm.

Chris McVeigh takes on the role of managing partner, as he joins from Ulster Bank where he worked at for 22 years, most recently as a director.

Lastly, Alison Dean has been hired as a financial planner, she previously worked at Davy Private Clients as a private client adviser.

MIFL

The Irish asset management arm of the Mediolanum Banking Group has appointed Luc Simoncini as head of product specialist team.

He will be based in Dublin.

Luc re-joins the firm from Kames Capital, where he was an equities senior investment specialist after leaving Mediolanum International Funds.
