PEOPLE MOVES: Andy Robinson, MetLife, Lombard Odier

Today’s people moves column boasts an embarrassment of riches as the industry seems to be getting its house in order before the Christmas break. Former Zurich man Andy Robinson has resurfaced, while MetLife has named a chief executive in Hong Kong. Lombard Odier’s new chief operating officer has left the world of haute couture to delve into financial marketing.

PEOPLE MOVES: KPMG, Investors Trust, Carrick

Andy Robinson (ex-Zurich Insurance Hong Kong)

Andy Robinson, the former chief distribution and propositions officer for Zurich Life Insurance in Hong Kong, has resurfaced as a director at independent insurance brokers, Village Holdings.

Robinson left Zurich in November 2015 and joined Village Holdings in August 2016, according to LinkedIn. In April 2016, Robinson set up a consultancy in Hong Kong called Ellan Vannin (the Manx name for the Isle of Man) with former colleague Paul Ballam.

MetLife

Lee Wood has been named chief executive of MetLife’s Hong Kong business, reporting to Damien Green, regional executive of MetLife Asia. Wood was most recently senior vice president at Allianz Taiwan Life Insurance Company, having previously spent five years as managing director at HSBC Life (International) in Taiwan.

Lombard Odier

Joséphine Verine in the newly created role of chief operating officer of marketing at Lombard Odier Group. Formerly manging director of the haute couture division at Chanel, Verine will be responsible for ensuring that marketing operations and project management run smoothly across units, markets and departments. In her role, she will also directly oversee events, publications, editorial content, and client experience.

Fidelity

Fidelity has brought Ben Waterhouse over from the UK to head the firm’s intermediary business for southeast Asia and the Middle East and serve as country head for Singapore. He will replace Mike Nikou, the current managing director for southeast Asia and head of intermediary business for Asia ex-Japan, who is reportedly leaving Fidelity.

Generali Investments

Generali Investments has strengthened its Italian sales team with the appointment of Gabriele Alberici as senior sales. Joining from UBS Wealth Management, Alberici will develop Generali Investments’ wholesale business, and broaden the offer of white label products and tailor-made solutions.

Aviva UK

Aviva UK General Insurance (UK GI) has appointed Patrick Tiernan as chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval. He joins Aviva from Starstone Insurance where he was group chief operating officer, replacing Colm Holmes after he was appointed chief executive for UK GI in June 2016.

Royal London

Andrea Montague has been appointed to the new role of deputy group finance director for Royal London. She joins in January from Standard Life where she gained over 10 years’ experience in a number of finance, audit, and transformation roles in the UK and Ireland.
