The head of recruitment at Dubai-based Abacus Financial Consultant, Lewis Greene, has joined London-based Independent Resourcing Consultancy (IRC).
At IRC he joins former Globaleye colleague and former head of resourcing Alice Knights in the search for international IFAs across South East Asia, Middle East and Europe.
Commenting on Greene’s departure Abacus managing director Con Lillis said he looked forward to continuing their strong working relationship.
Butterfield has appointed Brian Balleine as Asia regional head to drive business growth.
Balleine, previously managing director of Butterfield Trust in the Cayman Islands, has worked extensively with ultra-high net worth families and their advisers.
The appointment follows the establishment of Butterfield’s licensed trust company in Singapore as part of the acquisition of Deutsche Bank Global Trust Solutions.
Wrap platform Nucleus, has appointed Margaret Hassall and Tracy Dunley-Owen as independent non-executive directors with immediate effect.
Hassall is currently a NED at OneSavings Bank and for Ascension Trust (Scotland). Her previous work includes roles as chief operations officer or chief information officer for Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Barclays and Royal Bank of Scotland. She will chair Nucleus’ nomination and remuneration committees.
Tracy Dunley-Owen brings over 15 years’ of sector experience to the Board, including senior executive roles at Old Mutual, Guardian Financial Services, Swiss Re Life Capital and Celestial Financial Services.
Cayman Islands Monetary Authority
Former government Minister Wayne Panton has been named as chairman of the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, replacing his former colleague at Walkers law firm, Grant Stein, in the chairman’s post.
The term of the appointment is from July 21, 2018 to July 20, 2021, according to notices published Thursday in the government gazette.
In addition three new CIMA board members have been appointed; Theo Bullmore, Barry Kroeger and Patricia Teufel.
All four appointments run until 21 July 2021.
Panton served as Cayman’s minister of financial services, commerce and environment 2013-2017 losing his seat in May at the ballot box.
