The emirate has completed a study on the feasibility of such a pension fund, "and is in touch with relevant departments before launching it by the year end", according to a report on the Emirates 24/7 website says, quoting an official as having said on Sunday.
The report notes that the Department of Economic Development in Dubai is working on the project, which it says "will cover both public and private sector foreign employees, making Dubai the first city in the region to create a pension fund for expatriates, who do not pay income taxes in Dubai and other emirates".
