Standard Life has signed an agreement with the Industrial Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) to develop opportunities between both businesses in China, Hong Kong and the UK.

Standard Life and ICBC’s joint project in China, Heng An Standard Life, means the two firms already have a long-standing relationship, but today’s signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aims to increase co-operation in the savings and investment solutions sectors of the venture.

The MoU will also encourage sharing of knowledge and expertise through consistent interaction with senior executives.

Chief operating officer at Standard Life, Sandy Begbie, said working so closely with ICBC will help “deepen their reach” within the Asian market.
