Peter Drummond has stepped down from his role as head of Oman Insurance after just 11 months and is to take on a new position as chief executive of Legal & General Gulf.
Drummond took on the position at Dubai-headquartered insurer, Oman, in February last year and was responsible for all life products, underwriting and product development.
In his new job, Drummond takes over from former L&G Gulf chief executive, Sohail Ali, who has returned to Eqyptian life insurer Commercial International Life after completing his secondment.
Drummond was one of a number of top executives to leave Friends Provident International (FPI) between 2011 and 2012, including international sales director Bob Pain and FPI managing directors Rocco Sepe and Paul Tunnicliffe.
L&G said Drummond’s new role is subject to regulatory approval.
