omam uk and sig to combine businesses

Old Mutual Asset Managers UK and Skandia Investment Group are to be combined into a single business.

Old Mutual Asset Managers UK and Skandia Investment Group are to be combined into a single business.

The intention is for a single investment engine behind Old Mutual Wealth Management which includes Skandia UK, Skandia International (offshore) and Skandia Europe, as well as third-party financial institutions and intermediaries.

The chief executive of the new entity is, with immediate effect, Julian Ide who is currently chief executive of OMAM UK. He will report to Paul Feeney, chief executive of asset management for Old Mutual’s Long-Term Savings Division.

James Millard is the combined business’s chief investment officer.SIG recently confirmed that Marcus Bolitho will be joining in the summer from Bank of New York Mellon. He will be head of marketing for the new business.

A spokesperson confirmed a review of the operations of OMAM UK and SIG is ongoing, a review that will also reveal how it will be branded. Further announcements are expected in Q3.
