Ogier has named counsel Liam Murphy, associate Antoaneta Shikerova and paralegal Ashlea Graham as new additions to its growing corporate and funds team in Guernsey.
Murphy (pictured) advises on a broad range of corporate, commercial, fund and regulatory matters. He has advised extensively on equity and debt capital markets transactions including conventional and special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) initial public offerings, as well as de-SPAC transactions, and has a particular interest in family office and single investor structures.
He further strengthens the growing corporate and funds team alongside other recent joiners: Shikerova, who has diverse transactional experience on local and cross-jurisdictional matters, and paralegal Graham, who assists on transactions and corporate law matters.
Murphy started his career as an associate with international firm Cleary Gottlieb in London before joining the London office of Akin Gump. He advised the equity investment function in-house at Fidelity International, also in London, and then moved to Dubai in a senior legal counsel role at a multi-billion-dollar single family office. Liam then returned to private practice joining the Cayman Islands corporate team of an offshore firm, and spent some time in Dublin in a senior knowledge role advising the transactional team at one of Ireland’s leading law firms.
“Liam is an excellent lawyer with more than a decade of corporate law experience. His addition to our growing team complements the recent addition of Antoaneta and Ashlea, and further enhances our capability to assist clients across our range of corporate and funds services,” said partner Bryon Rees, head of corporate and investment funds in Guernsey.
Meanwhile, Shikerova joins the team after completing a training contract with Clifford Chance in Italy and is qualified as an Italian Avvocato.
