He joins from Man Investments in Hong Kong where he was an executive director, responsible for both wholesale and institutional business in the Greater China region.
Yuen reports to Madeline Ho, head of wholesale distribution for the Asia Pacific region and managing director of Natixis in Singapore. Ho had joined the asset manager from Fidelity Worldwide Investments in January.
Prior to Man Investments, Yuen worked for UBS Global Asset Management, Invesco Asset Management and Janus International, among others.
Yuen is responsible for new business development and client relationship management across private banks, consumer banks, insurance companies and independent financial advisers, through traditional and alternative products offered through Natixis platform.
According to Ho, Natixis’ model of offering clients access to a platform of specialist investment firms, collectively spanning all their investment needs, is still quite new to Asia.
"Yuen will help us deliver this platform more effectively in Hong Kong and bring clients the tools they need to build more durable portfolios," Ho said.
Natixis Global Asset Management’s platform of affiliates includes Natixis Asset Management, Loomis Sayles, Harris Associates and AEW Capital Management, amongst others.
Natixis set up a Hong Kong office in 2012, the firm’s fifth in the Asia Pacific region.
Natixis’ assets in Asia have increased 49% in just over three years to US$24bn as of March-end.
