Natixis Global Asset Management has appointed a senior consultant to help investors in Spain and Latin America build more durable portfolios.
González De Paz will be based in the company’s London office where he will be tasked with developing Natixis’ portfolio consulting group’s activity across Spain and Latin America, conducting analysis on portfolios and feedback for both new and existing Spanish-speaking clients.
The portfolio research and consulting group was launched in 2011 and has since grown to a team of more than 34 investment consultants from around the world.
With the opening of a new office in Mexico for institutional investors, the Paris-headquartered firm said the new hire is part of its continuing expansion. In June this year it made 25 funds available in Europe to increase its investor base.
De Paz took on roles at Mercer Investment Consulting in Spain and RBS private banking in the UK, before working as a portfolio manager at BBVA Asset Management where he ran the Spanish firm’s €3.5bn (£2.8bn, $4.4bn) multi-asset funds.
“With increasing complexity in the market, advisers everywhere are keen to have a deeper understanding of the risk levels in their portfolios in order to stay invested and reach their long-term goals,” said head of the Natixis group, James Beaumont.
“We have seen significant and growing demand for our portfolio analysis and Juan José will be able to help us develop further, by putting his investment expertise to work with new and existing adviser clients in Spanish speaking countries.”
