Newman has been promoted to the position to replace Mark Pesco who has moved into a new group role. He joined First Names Group in 2008 as a private client director and has held the position of deputy managing director since January.
On his promotion, Newman said: “The group has witnessed unprecedented growth in the last few years and it is a fantastic time to be part of the organisation.
“We believe superior client service comes from the inside out, so my focus will be on continuing to develop the internal culture to ensure we have the right working environment for our people to deliver the best possible service.”
Newman will report to group chief executive Morgan Jubb.
First Names Group has been rising to prominence in the trust and corporate services market since a management buyout and re-brand in July 2012, having made series of acquisitions. The most recent purchase made by the company was Mercator, its fourth, earlier this year.
