mitonoptimal opens singapore office

19 Oct 11

MitonOptimal has opened a regional headquarters in Singapores central business district.

MitonOptimal has opened a regional headquarters in Singapores central business district.

The multi-asset management firm says its office will be responsible for sales and support to Asian IFAs and private banks, as well as a push into the institutional and family office market.

Patrick Pitcher, a director and shareholder in various private companies, provides oversight to MitonOptimal Asia as chairman, while Phil Penrose joins as regional sales director. Penrose arrives from Swiss Life, where he was the sales director for the Middle East and Africa.

According to MitonOptimal, the firm will represent MAM Funds in the region “for a new exclusive period”. MAM Funds, which was founded in 2001 as a private client investment manager trading as iimia, runs a range of funds under the Miton and Midas brands.

Martin Gray, manager of Offshore Special Situations, and Scott Campbell, lead fund manager of Core Diversified, will visit the region to meet advisers and clients over the next few months.

The launch of MitonOptimal’s Singapore office follows a decision by Apollo Multi Asset Management to target the Singapore market with its Mauritius-registered Apollo Fund. Tom McGrath and Steve Brann, co-managers of Apollo, previously worked at Miton.
