Mirae appoints head of Nordic region

7 Sep 11

Mirae Asset Global Investments Group has expanded its European team.

Mirae Asset Global Investments Group has expanded its European team.

Waltré, who joins the company from Aviva Investors where he was business development director responsible for relationships in the Nordic and Baltic states, will take over responsibility for Mirae’s existing clients in the Nordic region and developing new business in the wholesale and retail channels. Based in London, he will report to Elliot Berman, head of sales.

The appointment of Waltré follows the arrival of Betina Tomić at the company earlier this year to take responsibility for German-speaking Europe earlier this year.

Mirae has traditionally focused on the Asian market but has in recent years begun to turn its attention to Europe, launching a Sicav for UK and European investors in July 2008. The Sicav currently comprises six Asia and emerging market-focused sub funds.
