Lombard Odier Investment Managers has expanded its 1798 Alternatives investment range with the launch of LO Funds – TerreNeuve.
It is a Ucits vehicle within the TerreNeuve strategy that will offer onshore investors access to a equity long/short strategy, with a focus on sustainable investing.
The fund is managed by Arnaud Langlois, who joined Lombard Odier IM in February 2018 to launch the offshore domiciled 1798 TerreNeuve Fund.
Jean-Pascal Porcherot, chief executive of Lombard Odier IM’s 1798 Alternatives, said:“Following the successful launch of the offshore vehicle, the 1798 TerreNeuve Fund, we are excited to extend this to our onshore clients.
“The commitment of Lombard Odier IM to the strategy reflects a shared vision that the integration of sustainability into the investment process can be a strong source of alpha for equity long / short strategies and a key driver of returns.”
Strategy
LO Funds – TerreNeuve will follow the same investment process as the offshore version.
The TerreNeuve strategy is a bottom up, sector specialist approach, with a focus on sectors including global consumer, agriculture, chemicals, environmental and medical technologies.
The investment team seeks to identify and measure significant long-term drivers of company valuation, including less tangible environmental, social and/or governance factors.
The team also utilises a proprietary sustainability rating system they have developed which acts as a company due diligence process and helps them analyse ESG themes in their sectors.
The Ucits fund will target high single digit net returns, with a volatility of approximately 6-7%.
