Axa, Metlife and Zurich have taken some of the top spots among the 100 most valuable insurance brands of 2018, but China is the most dominant country with its companies taking four of the top 10 slots.
Singapore’s AIA dropped one place to fifth in the 2018 league table. Brand value increased to $10.3bn from $9.9bn a year ago.
The group launched AIA Financial Advisers in Singapore in September and reportedly raided rival firms to bolster its headcount.
The same month, AIA paid A$3bn (£1.7bn, $2.3bn, €1.9bn) for Commonwealth Bank of Australia’s life insurance businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
