Kingswood completes sixth acquisition of 2022

By Robbie Lawther, 1 Aug 22

It is in ‘exclusive due diligence talks’ for a further seven potential deals

International wealth and investment management group Kingswood has acquired Hampshire-based IFA firm Smith Pearman and Associates for an undisclosed sum.

Established for over 35 years, Smith Pearman and Associates serves over 240 clients across Surrey and Hampshire with over £70m ($85.7m, €83.5m) in assets under advice.

In 2022, Kingswood has acquired Yorkshire-based DJ Cooke Financial Planning; Allotts Financial Services in Rotherham; Joseph R Lamb Independent Financial Advisers in Essex; Eastleigh-based Aim Independent and Lincolnshire-based IFA firm Vincent & Co.

David Lawrence, chief executive at Kingswood, said: “Smith Pearman and Associates has established itself as a reputable, dynamic and client centric business over the past 30 years and we are delighted to have its team of highly skilled professionals join us at Kingswood.

“This deal also reinforces our presence in Hampshire, building on our recent acquisition of AiM Independent and creating a sustainable hub in the region.

“Looking ahead, we maintain a healthy acquisition pipeline and are currently in exclusive due diligence talks for a further seven potential acquisitions. Our near-term target is to build our UK AuM and AuA in excess of £10bn in the UK and £14bn globally.”
