Investment manager creates advice M&A matchmaking service

By Robbie Lawther, 7 Apr 22

It will facilitate transactions between sellers and buyers

UK-based Ebi Portfolios has launched a matchmaking service called Affinity to enable advisers to register interest in selling their business or acquiring other financial advice firms.

The firm said that it “identified that succession and acquisition can be a challenge for advisory businesses, where ongoing support and care of clients is paramount”.

Affinity has been designed to help inform and connect advisers, and facilitate transactions between sellers and buyers.

Ebi said that it will be able to “aid the process” by putting advisers in touch with third-party finance, legal and brokerage advice.

Challenge

The firm said in a statement on its website: “Succession planning is at the forefront of many Ebi advisers’ minds; wishing to secure a deal with likeminded advisory firms who will ensure a safe onwards journey for their clients.

“It can be a challenge to meet the right firm, and even more so to navigate range of options available when it comes to structuring deals, arranging finance and the other complexities that come with buy and selling a business.

“Ebi, with experience of successfully selling an advisory firm, developing many industry contacts and a network of like-minded advisers, can you help navigate these waters.”
