HSBC Life UK names Richard Waters as head of protection distribution

He brings more than 30 years’ experience to his new role

HSBC Life (UK)  has appointed Richard Waters as head of protection distribution.

Previously national account manager protection distribution at HSBC Life (UK), he brings more than 30 years’ experience to his new role having worked as a general insurance broker and latterly, in senior positions in HSBC’s mortgage intermediary and group insurance businesses.

He will lead the Protection Intermediary Distribution team, overseeing key distribution relationships and a team of experienced business development professionals across the UK.

Waters’ primary objective is to develop existing and new strategic relationships, delivering quality training and education to advisers, empowering them to provide optimal protection solutions to their customers.

Mitchell Barker, chief distribution officer at HSBC Life (UK) Ltd, said: “Richard has already played a major role in broadening HSBC Life (UK’s) distribution footprint and his experience and expertise will be vitally important as we continue to expand our reach across the UK protection market.”

Waters added: “I am deeply committed to building upon the progress HSBC Life (UK) has already achieved. My goal is to provide our partners with an effective range of protection options, enabling them to meet their customers’ needs and ensuring positive outcomes.”
