Bolitho, who became chairman of the Asia-pacific region in 2012, has been with the firm since last 15 years. He will take an advisory director’s role at the firm, the memo said.
His departure comes almost a year after the asset manager relocated Sheila Patel to Singapore from London to lead the fund business in Asia outside of Japan.
Asian investor had first reported the development on its website on Tuesday.
Boltiho joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 and was named head of UK and Irish institutional business in 2001. In 2007, he moved to Hong Kong to lead GSAM in Asia Pacific ex-Japan, and became head of GSAM in Asia Pacific in 2009. He was named managing director in 2003 and partner in 2008.
