Young has been appointed senior technical adviser in charge of corporate and high net worth clients, according to the company’s founder and managing director, John W Fleming.
The position is a new one, and comes as the company has been expanding its business in both areas, Fleming said, adding that Global Index would benefit from Young’s combination of a “British background” and more than 30 years “at the very highest level” of a company like KPMG.
“The business environment in Brazil is complex, and both knowledge and connections here are imperative,” Fleming said.
“Global Index is a growing concern, and Tim Young’s appointment is a direct result of that growth.
“Brazil, like the rest of the world, is changing, and our clients need far more sophisticated solutions moving forward. [Both] corporate and high net worth strategies need real expertise of the home country.”
Global Index currently has seven offices in South America, including three in Brazil, and is looking to expand into Africa. It has assets under advice of more than £100m. Fleming founded the company some 10 years ago, after spending a number of years in Colombia and Ecuador.
