Funds to watch: Europe ex UK equity sector newcomers

18 Apr 16

Morningstar selects its top 10 newcomers in the Europe ex UK equity sector, according to senior analyst Muna Abu-Habsa.

Many of the newcomers are small in size, with four funds with less than $40m. Investors should also be aware that a one-year time frame is a short period to assess fund performance.

Old Mutual Europe ex UK Smaller Companies

The final fund is the Old Mutual Europe ex UK Smaller Companies which was launched in late 2014 following the arrival of ex-Ignis fund manager, Ian Ormiston, at Old Mutual.

Ormiston has more than two decades’ experience in European equities and had spent seven years at Ignis running European equity money, specifically focusing on European smaller companies.

The manager employs a unique approach and has stayed true to his style.
