International Adviser takes a look at how its most written about jurisdictions have fared in previous World Cups to see if their financial reputations match their standings in the beautiful game.

We are now in the final stages of this year’s World Cup in Brazil, and, despite being exciting, shocking, disappointing, and impressive, the one thing the tournament has lacked is a decent representative nation from our offshore canon.

While they may not possess the unstoppable stoicism of Germany, or the star studded fervour of Brazil which lost its lustre in its shocking 1-7 defeat to Germany yesterday, the expat world does have a football community, both at home and abroad.

Here we look at how a few of them have performed (or not performed) in previous tournaments.
