Ex-BRI Wealth Management director sets up IFA firm

By Robbie Lawther, 14 Jul 20

She was previously a private client manager at Killik & Co

Worcester-based Eva Capital Management opened its doors in early July to offer advice to both private and corporate clients.

The firm was set up by Hannah Edwards, who was previously director of financial planning at BRI Wealth Management and, prior to that, a private client manager at Killik & Co.

There is no minimum portfolio requirement and initial discussion with the firm is free of charge.

Based on clients’ preferences, there will be a low-cost passive investment management operation, which consist of a multi-asset offering and discretionary investment management.

Nurturing and developing talent

At BRI, Edwards managed in excess of £100m ($125m, €111m) of client assets within her portfolio, alongside her director and departmental duties.

She has experience dealing with high net worth individuals and families, divorce cases, complex pension schemes and large trusts.

Her late father, Mike Brown, owned and ran Foregate Street Investments, a Worcester-based business.

Edwards said: “There aren’t many female financial services business owners in the local area. I have enjoyed nurturing and developing talent in previous roles and I look forward to being able to make this an intrinsic part of the practise.

“Like my father, I have always wanted to have a major stake in something to call my own. Ultimately, I am really excited to be able to spend less time at the board table and more time with my clients.”
