They will start at the beginning of July when Himsworth will run a new Eden UK Select Opportunities Fund while Roberts will manage a global equity income fund to be introduced later in the year.
Himsworth was head of UK equities at Gartmore, joining from Royal London Asset Management where he spent three years running the Royal London UK Mid-Cap Growth Trust. He also has experience running small and midccap funds with Rensburg Sheppards.
Roberts, like Himsworth, started out at Pricewaterhouse Coopers before moving on to M&G and Invesco and then joined Aviva in 2003 where he became lead manager of the Aviva Investors UK Equity Income Fund in 2005. He joined Gartmore in July 2009 where he ran the Gartmore UK Equity Income Fund.
Roberts will join up with another former M&G man, as Eden Financial’s head of asset management is Ed Rosengarten Rosengarten who 18 years at M&G and had been chief executive of equities since 2001. His main objectives are to recruit fund managers and create new funds for retail, intermediary and institutional investors.
