Dr David Crichton has been accused of plotting to kill Brown Shipley adviser Andy Bolton at his home in Bournemouth on 26 February this year.
The 63-year-old Crichton was said to have “solicited, encouraged, persuaded, endeavoured to persuade or proposed to a person unknown to murder Andrew Bolden”, newspaper Bournemouth Echo has reported.
He is also charged with sending Bolden emails and text messages between 26 July 2016 and 4 March 2017, which “conveyed a threat for the purpose of causing distress or anxiety to the recipient”, the court was told.
The GP has not yet entered a plea to either of the charges against him and is next due to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court on 19 October.

Bolden has worked in financial services since joining the NatWest Group in 1986. He moved to Brown Shipley following its acquisition of Hampton Dean in 2015, where he had been a consultant since 2001.
Bolden has specialised in advising members of the medical and academic communities.
A source close to the adviser said it was an unusual case that Bolden is keen to put behind him.
Crichton has been released on bail on the condition that he doesn’t contact Bolden or the employees of Brown Shipley Financial Advisers in any way.
