“The sheer variety of platform acquisitions meant 2021 was another year of big change, which often spells disruption for advisers, and we expect this will make sustainability a bigger priority in 2022.

“When we say ‘sustainability’ we don’t mean ESG – it’s about platform providers not being distracted by short-term success and focusing instead on developing tech, tools and service that have a lasting positive impact and keep disruption to an absolute minimum. A key consideration here is whether the owner is solely focused on the platform or is part of a wider company with many different, often competing, priorities.”
