Top destinations for sun-seeking British expats
By Kirsten Hastings, 4 Aug 17
Summer in the UK this year has been a brief affair, so it comes as no surprise that nearly two-thirds of British expats think about the weather when planning their moves abroad. But sunshine isn’t the only factor prospective expats should consider.
Although 80% of expats in Brazil considered the climate a potential benefit before moving, it is just not enough to compensate the poor work conditions.
Compared to its 2014 results, Brazil dropped from 33rd place to 65th out of 67 countries in terms of working abroad.
Doing an especially poor for job security by ranking second from bottom, 85% respondents in Brazil regard the state of the economy negatively, reflecting reports on rising unemployment and falling real wages in 2015 and 2016.
In addition, Brazil also is rated the worst country for families which mostly results from the poor quality and high costs of education.
Not even three out of 10 expat parents are satisfied with the quality of education, compared to a global average of 64%, and only 14% think that education is affordable.
