DBS Bank in Singapore names Lua to head Asia private banking ops

27 Jun 11

DBS Private Bank has named Lawrence Lua to head up its private banking operations in Southeast Asia.

DBS Private Bank has named Lawrence Lua to head up its private banking operations in Southeast Asia.

Lua, who will be a managing director at DBS, had been managing director and senior adviser at Julius Baer in Singapore, according to published reports.

At DBS, Lua will be responsible for DBS’s private banking offices in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines, and will report to group head of wealth management Tan Su Shan.

According to the FinanceAsia news website, the DBS job Lua is taking on had been vacant since Kwong Kin Mun left at the end of 2009 to become head of Southeast Asia for Deutsche Bank Private Wealth Management.

Southeast Asia accounts for roughly half of DBS Private Bank’s business, the bank said.

DBS’s website is at www.dbs.com.
