Effective from 8 April, Jones’s primary role will include global responsibilities to assist with training and development, educational client seminars and involvement with more complex, individual client needs.
He will continue to be based in Dubai.
Unique set of core skills
Commenting on the appointment, deVere Group chief executive Nigel Green said: “I have known Darren for many years and followed his career closely. He has a unique set of core skills that compliment perfectly today’s increasingly regulated markets and demands for more technically-focused advice.
“I am thrilled he has agreed to join our senior management team.”
Jones added: “I have been offered a fabulous opportunity to be part of deVere Group’s global growth story. The business has an enviable track record for innovation and foresight and I am very much looking forward to working closely with Nigel and the rest of his team.”
Guardian Wealth
Jones joined Guardian from Old Mutual International in December 2016.
Guardian has confirmed that it intends to replace Jones with a UK candidate – although it is also considering looking at the talent in their global offices.
Hamzah Shalchi, Middle East director of Guardian Wealth Management, said: “We wish Darren all the best for the future and we part on the best of terms.
“This is an exciting time for Guardian in the region as we seek not only to expand but evolve the business to better serve the needs of the modern society in the region.”
