Taylor, who will also liaise with management on the strategic development of the business, replaces Pierre Horsfall who has stepped down after three years in the position.
Prior to 2009 Taylor was a senior partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers CI and global leader of PwC Quality Assurance, and he is currently chairman of Hawksford International, chairman of the States of Jersey Treasury Advisory Panel, chairman of the Jersey International Business School and a non-executive director of Royal Bank of Scotland International Limited.
He also served as a commissioner of the Jersey Financial Services Commission and as a member of the Jersey Financial Services Advisory Board.
Michael Morley, chief executive of Coutts & Co said Taylor will work closely with its relationship teams in Jersey and Guernsey.
