The Hong Kong Insurance Authority (IA) has warned the public that its office will remain closed for another week amid risks of coronavirus spreading.
The regulator said: “In view of the latest development related to the novel coronavirus, the Insurance Authority’s office will remain closed to the general public from 10 to 16 February to reduce the risk of virus spreading.
“[The] IA will provide public services at a limited scale.
“The enquiry and complaint hotline will operate from 11am to 1pm and 2pm to 4pm on weekdays, while handling of email for enquiries and complaints will operate as normal.
“Arrangement has been made for some staff to work from home and for staff returning to office in spilt teams.”
The insurance watchdog had already been forced to close its office to the general public last week, over concerns regarding the risk of the virus spreading.
