UK and international law firm Collyer Bristow has promoted Aidan Grant to partner in the Private Wealth department, effective from 20 September 2024.
Grant (pictured) is specifically in the Tax & Estate Planning team, having joined Collyer Bristow in 2016 and now advising on resident non-domiciliaries, UK and international trustees and domestic clients on matters spanning pre-immigration planning, residency and domicile rules, international tax planning and UK wills and estate planning.
In particular, Grant’s work focuses on working with high-net-worth clients with UK/US interests, for example mixed domicile marriages, UK resident US citizens or UK resident beneficiaries of US trusts.
As part of his focus on UK/US he has been hosting a successful podcast series, UK/USA, featuring regular guests from across the industry, and he also sits on the Private Client Tax committee of the International Bar Association.
He is also on the leadership committee of a UK-based networking group focusing on US/UK tax and estate planning professionals known as the ‘US Future Partners Group’.
Aidan’s promotion takes the number of partners in the Tax & Estate Planning team to eight, heading the busy team in advising clients on their succession planning and tax affairs. The team works closely with colleagues in the Family and Property teams to deliver its Private Wealth offering to HNW and UHNW individuals and families.
Peter Daniel, head of private wealth at Collyer Bristow said: “Aidan is an exceptional lawyer with huge amounts of energy and is enormously passionate about what he does.
“He is extremely well-regarded by clients for his expertise and his pragmatic approach to complex issues. We are always delighted to recognise the talent we have, which is no better rewarded than by a promotion to partnership. Aidan will assist Collyer Bristow in the continuing growth of its renowned Private Wealth offering, and we are delighted that he will be doing so from his new position as partner.”
Collyer Bristow provides legal advice to a portfolio of international and domestic clients including medium-sized businesses, wealthy individuals & families, and ambitious entrepreneurs.
