Clifton Wealth Partnership Limited (CWP), part of the Clifton Group, has appointed Tom Stansbridge for its newly created role of M&A Execution Manager. Tom joins CWP from Ascot Lloyd where he held the role of M&A Manager for four years.
During his 26 years in financial services, Tom has spent time in senior operations management roles at Quilter, LEBC and Flying Colours Wealth. He has also worked in both advisory and paraplanning roles throughout his career.
The creation of the new role at CWP follows the firm’s recent acquisitions of seven advice businesses in March 2025, with further strategic acquisitions expected in the pipeline. As part of its growth plans, CWP is building out its pre-completion team to support the smooth integration of adviser firms.
CWP is a Financial Planning and Wealth Management business and is part of Bristol-based Clifton Group which, with a legacy stretching back 40 years, now has £2.5 billion AUM and looks after pensions and investments on behalf of over 12,000 clients.
Anthony Carty, Managing Director at Clifton Wealth Partnership, comments: “We’re fortunate to already have a large team in place helping advice firms integrate with CWP. But a huge effort also goes into the due diligence and legal process and we wanted to give our team in this area more support.
“This is where Tom comes in, using his M&A knowledge and experience working in-house for financial planning firms to really strengthen this area of our business and give advisers the best experience possible when joining CWP.”
Tom Stansbridge comments: “CWP are very upfront about the hard work that needs to go in from both the acquirer and the advice firm during any acquisition and integration process. That’s why their team take the proper time to work closely with adviser firms ahead of an acquisition, getting to know the staff within the business while carefully managing integrations.
“My new role at CWP reflects their commitment to this approach by freeing up more time for key members of the team to focus on making the overall journey as smooth as possible for everyone involved.”
