CISI teams up with university to offer pre-graduation exams

18 Aug 17

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Cisi) and Birmingham City University (BCU) have forged a partnership to give young graduates the opportunity to sit professional qualifications in financial services before finishing their degrees.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (Cisi) and Birmingham City University (BCU) have forged a partnership to give young graduates the opportunity to sit professional qualifications in financial services before finishing their degrees.

Specific Cisi exams have been mapped to several BCU courses, the professional body said.

Final year BSc/MFin Business Finance students are eligible to sit the L3 Corporate Finance (Technical Foundation) exam, and final year BSc/MFin Finance and Investment students (plus postgraduate students) are eligible to sit the L3 Introduction to Investment exam.

BCU is sponsoring students on the programmes for the Cisi exam registration fee, including Cisi Student Membership.

In addition, students funding their own Cisi workbook and exam can benefit from a 50% discount to the published Cisi fees.

“We are delighted to be working with Birmingham City University whose students will now benefit from BCU’s strategy aimed at giving them a competitive edge in the jobs market,” said Kevin Moore, Cisi director of global business development.

“In addition, Cisi Student Membership will mean that these students are eligible to attend local continuing professional development (CPD) workshops, which will offer them a unique opportunity to learn about current topics alongside our local Cisi members already working in the profession.”
