Australia will be a big beneficiary of global wealth migration according to a survey which ranks global private wealth centres.
Australia will overtake Canada and gain significant ground on Germany and the UK over the next 10 years growing 70% to $10.4trn.
Over the past ten years Australia’s total wealth has grown 83% on a par with New Zealand.
Global wealth migration is accelerating. Approximately 95,000 millionaires (HNWIs) migrated in 2017, compared to 82,000 in 2016 and 64,000 in 2015. Australia has been the most popular destination country for migrating HNWIs for the past three years.
