The rebrand is set for 6 March and the launch of the Isle of Man office will be on 9 March.

Jon Moulton, chairman of the CISE, said the move was part of the exchange’s long-term strategy to expand its international footprint.

“Last year we made changes so that listing sponsors no longer have to be based in the Channel Islands but can be from further afield and we signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) to explore opportunities for working together.

Big interest

Fiona Le Poidevin, CISE’s chief executive, said: “I have made several visits to the Isle of Man in the last year and it is clear that there is significant interest from businesses in the island to have access to an exchange.”

“The Isle of Man has trading companies within a diverse range of industries, including in the technology sector, who will be able to use the Exchange to raise capital to help them grow.”

The newly-renamed TISE will also offer other firms the opportunity to participate in its success by being a listing sponsor or providing legal or administrative services to those companies being listed.

“Ultimately, we hope that our presence in the Isle of Man will directly and indirectly boost employment and growth in the Manx economy and generate positive revenues for the local exchequer,” Le Poidevin said.

Headquartered in Guernsey and with an office in Jersey, CISE currently offer listing a wide range of products, including trading companies, specialist debt firms, investment vehicles, special purpose acquisition companies and extractive industries.

The exchange, which was established in 1998, has more than 2,000 listed securities on its official list worth a total market capitalisation of more than £300bn ($375.9bn, €351.9bn).
