channel islands securities exchange names

Guy Coltman, a corporate partner of the Carey Olsen law firm’s Jersey practice, has been appointed a non-executive director of the Channel Islands Securities Exchange, as three other board members have resigned.

Guy Coltman, a corporate partner of the Carey Olsen law firm’s Jersey practice, has been appointed a non-executive director of the Channel Islands Securities Exchange, as three other board members have resigned.

The board changes are taking place as the exchange continues to restructure in the wake of a period of turmoil last year that saw its long-time chief executive resign, and its replacement by a new exchange at the end of December.

Coltman has been with Carey Olsen since September 2006, and was made a partner three years later. He is an advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey.

The board members who resigned from the securities exchange’s board were Robert Christensen, managing director of Volaw, the Jersey-based trust company, fund management services and fund structuring specialist;  Paul Cutts managing director of Northern Trust, Guernsey; and Tim Herbert, a partner of Mourant Ozannes, based in Jersey.

The board of the exchange, the acronym for which is now CISE rather than CISX, now consists of Jon Moulton, chairman, the private equity and turnaround veteran who is also chairman of the Better Capital fund entities; Stephen Lansdown, cou-founder and former chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown, the FTSE 100-listed private client brokerage and investment company; Coltman; and Marcus Stone, who left Mourant Ozannes in 2011 to establish Hatstone Lawyers, a boutique private wealth and corporate legal practice based in Jersey.

As reported, the organisation is currently looking for a new chief executive.
