By , 12 Aug 14

London-based wealth advice firm Berkeley Law has launched Berkeley LatAm, a joint venture with senior South American wealth specialist Colin Maltby.

London-based wealth advice firm Berkeley Law has launched Berkeley LatAm, a joint venture with senior South American wealth specialist Colin Maltby.

Based in Argentina and Uruguay, Berkeley LatAm will act for, and advise, international high and ultra-high net worth individuals and families, their advisers, and the institutions who work for them, such as family offices.

Berkeley said the new venture will specialise in succession planning, international investment structuring and commercial work for family offices, and will be supported by the company’s London team.

Maltby has over 20 years’ experience in the high and ultra-high net worth advisory space.

He is also a qualified lawyer, private banker and wealth specialist, and has previously held positions at UBS and Coutts.

Partner at Berkeley Law, Nick Rucker, said: “We see South America as an untapped market in terms of access to high quality wealth advisory services.

“Through Berkeley LatAm we believe we are the only UK firm to truly offer South America-based and international clients the relevant expertise and depth of resource they require, reinforced by a local presence.”

Founded in 2010, Berkeley Law acts for, and advises, high-net-worth clients and families from the UK and abroad, as well as their advisers.
