By Kirsten Hastings, 17 Jun 20

Firm names chief operating officer and head of family office division

The wealth management arm of financial services firm Avendus Capital has named Pankaj Fitkariwala and Ashvini Chopra as executive directors.

Fitkariwala has joined as chief operating officer of Avendus Wealth and brings with him 21 years’ experience. He was most recently senior managing partner at IIFL Wealth Management, having previously worked with Barclays Bank, ABN Amro and Kotak Mahindra Group.

Chopra joins from Bennett Coleman & Co and will lead Avendus Wealth’s family office. His career spans 27 years across family office management, private banking and capital markets.

Launched in 2010, Avendus Wealth Management has $4bn (£3.17bn, €3.5bn) of AUM, according to its press release; and caters to family offices, ultra-high net worth individuals and corporates.

Its parent company, Avendus Capital, was set up in 1999 in Mumbai.

The group currently has a presence in 10 cities across India, the US, UK and Singapore.
