Standard Chartered Private Bank has launched the Asia Pacific ex-Japan Equities Portfolio

Standard Chartered Private Bank has launched the Asia Pacific ex-Japan Equities Portfolio

It is the latest edition to Standard Chartered’s Signature Securities Portfolio Range and will invest in listed Asian equities and index “related” securities.

The portfolio, which is ex-Japan but includes Australia, will be managed with a bottom-up style focused on identifying both growth and value stocks.

The private bank said that during times of market volatility a top-down overlay could be applied to the portfolio to reduce risks through the use of certain derivatives.

Shayne Nelson, chief executive of Standard Chartered and global head of its private banking operation, said: "This latest portfolio perfectly complements our strategy of connecting clients with the growth markets of the world.

“The Asia (ex-Japan) region was largely insulated from the worst effects of the global financial crisis and is strongly poised for economic recovery, helped by strong West to East capital flows.”
