DeVere opens second Australian office

By International Adviser, 9 Feb 15

DeVere has opened a second office in Australia as it looks to cater to the countrys soaring demand for cross-border advice.

DeVere has opened a second office in Australia as it looks to cater to the countrys soaring demand for cross-border advice.

Richard Johnsson and Stuart Holmes, two senior wealth consultants previously working in deVere offices in Bangkok and Zurich respectively, will form part of the new office’s senior management team, both maintaining their job titles.

The company plans to open further Australian offices in Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane in the near future.

John Brophy, divisional manager of the ASEAN region and head of deVere Australia, said the demand for internationally-focused independent financial advice from expats and Australians has “soared” in the country.

“To achieve our goal of deVere Austrllia becoming the largest and most trusted independent financial advisory firm in this region within a matter of years, and to meet the growing client demand, we will be recruiting more talented wealth managers to join our already internationally proven team,” he said.

DeVere’s first Australian office was opened in Melbourne in November following “consistent and increasing” demand for cross-border financial advice in the country.

At the time, deVere chief executive Nigel Green said the country had the potential to become the company’s largest market.
