Financial planning firm unveils Leeds operation

By Robbie Lawther, 8 Nov 22

Office will be run by a former Quilter adviser

Cheltenham-headquartered RockWealth has opened a financial planning branch in Leeds.

This comes after it launched an operation in Aberdeen earlier this year and three across the UK in 2021.

RockWealth also has offices in Cheltenham, Norwich, Leamington Spa, Brighton, Knutsford, Cardiff and Aberdeen.

The Leeds operation will be managed by Brandon Lamam, who joins from Quilter Private Client Advisers, where he was a financial adviser.

Lamam said: “I’ve seen what RockWealth has achieved in other parts of the country, and I really wanted to bring its unique offering to Yorkshire. We’re a firm that has a reputation for delivering the highest quality advice and we put clients at the centre of everything we do.

“We’re evidence-based, and that’s definitely the way the profession is going. We also charge fixed fees, which are so much fairer than percentage fees. It’s not right that clients should have to subsidise other clients just because they’ve built a large portfolio.”

Growth in popularity

Tim Horrocks, Rockwealth founding partner, added: “Brandon is a very talented financial planner. We’re delighted to have someone with his intelligence, skills and personal qualities on board.

“We’ve seen a huge growth in the popularity of evidence-based investing in recent years. Also, people are much more aware than they were that percentage fees, compounded over time, can make a huge dent in your long-term investment returns.

“We have a disruptive value proposition that I’m sure will go down very well in the north of England.”
