UK financial advice firm unveils legal arm

By Robbie Lawther, 31 Oct 22

To address client needs without having to outsource to third-party providers

Lancashire-based Akorn Financial Advice has launched a sister company called Akorn Legal.

The subsidiary will provide clients with specialist advice on Wills, lasting powers of attorney and estate planning.

Akorn Financial Advice said it saw a “natural gap” in its services, which led to setting up a legal arm.

Angelo Kornecki, managing director of Akorn, said: “This is a really positive step forward for us as we launch a specialist service through Akorn Legal to help clients address the areas of advice we would usually outsource to third party providers.

“Making Wills, lasting power of attorney’s and estate planning are all topics we discuss with our clients anyway, so it was a natural next step for us as we evolve and grow the businesses and finally bring these services within the Akorn family.”

Jessica Robinson, professional will writer at Akorn Legal, added: “Akorn Financial Advice has a reputation for delivering an exceptional service to its pension, investment, mortgage and protection clients, but there was one thing missing from our services that just made sense.”
