UK financial planning group buys Suffolk-based IFA firm

By Robbie Lawther, 5 Nov 21

Founder of acquired business will retire after the deal

East Anglian-based financial planner Beckett Investment Management Group has acquired the clients of Suffolk-heaquartered IFA firm Paul Schwer Financial Services for an undisclosed sum.

This comes several months after UK private equity firm Foresight Group made an equity investment into Becketts.

Paul Schwer, who is founder of the acquired firm, is retiring after the deal and the firm’s clients will be looked after by a team of consultants headed up by Jenny Williams at Becketts’ Ipswich office.

Gavin Wood, private client director at Becketts, said: “It was an easy decision for us to welcome Paul’s clients because he has provided the highest levels of advice to them for many years.

“Our firms share the same values and we know that the clients will enjoy the same level of friendliness, professionalism and efficiency.”
