Personal Finance Society interim chief executive Don MacIntyre has stepped down from his role after a couple of years overseeing a difficult period for the organisation following a much reported open conflict between it and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
MacIntyre joined the PFS in August 2022 on a short-term contract with the mission of assisting the professional body in evolving its working practices and governance structures, the PFS said in a statement on 5 November.
“During his tenure, he played an instrumental role in helping the organisation through significant changes and in positioning the PFS for future growth and success. Reflecting on his achievements, Don shared that the time felt right to take his career in a new direction.
“The PFS will be securing permanent arrangements to ensure the continued high quality of leadership that our members deserve.
“The PFS Chair, Christine Elliott, and President, Carla Brown, wish Don all the very best for his future success and for all his hard work, loyalty and dedication, in often difficult circumstances.
“The PFS wants to reassure all members that the organisation is in good hands. The executive team remains fully committed to advancing the goals of the PFS and will continue to work closely with the Board to ensure a smooth transition and sustained support for the society’s valued members.”
