Old Mutual Int’l and AAM Advisory in court against IFS

The most read story by our Asia audience for 2017 was in April, when Old Mutual International appeared as a defendant in Singapore’s supreme court alongside its local advice business AAM Advisory.

At the time, two industry sources told International Adviser the court case centred on a loan from either Old Mutual International or AAM Advisory to International Financial Services (IFS).

Court records named the plaintiffs as Thomas Fewtrell, who is understood to be also known as Paul, and advisory business IFS.

Originally from Birmingham, Fewtrell founded IFS with his wife in Borneo in 1997. With its main office now in Singapore, the company also has a presence in Hong Kong and Qatar.
