Threadneedle Investments which boasts 40% of its assets in asset allocation mandates has expanded Toby Nangles multi-asset team with an additional client portfolio manager.

Craig Nowrie has joined from Aon Hewitt, where he was a senior research consultant covering multi-asset, diversified growth, global equity, fund of alternatives and currency. Prior to that, he was a senior analyst for HSBC Actuaries & Consultants.

Nangle joined Threadneedle as head of multi-asset from Barings in 2012 to run its Multi Asset Target Alpha Fund.

Last year the firm also launched Threadneedle Dynamic Real Return Fund for Nangle and colleague Alex Lyle, targeting equity-like returns over three to five years, and volatility of around two-thirds of equities over the cycle.

“The recent UK pension reforms could be a game-changer for fund managers, particularly in multi-asset which provides retiring people with a viable option to invest and manage their pension pots,” Nangle said.
