Charlemagne launches EM dividend fund

27 Jun 11

Charlemagne Capital has launched the Magna Emerging Markets Dividend Fund.

Charlemagne Capital has launched the Magna Emerging Markets Dividend Fund.

Julian Mayo is one of the portfolio advisers of the fund, as he is for the recently launched
Charlemagne Magna Undervalued Assets Fund. This time he will be assisted by Gabor Sitanyi, a fellow chief investment officer at Charlemagne Capital.

The Dublin-domiciled Ucits III fund will have around 30-40 holdings of stocks across a number of exchanges, including London, AIM and local emerging markets with their main being to have a sustainable high dividend yield plus strong earnings growth. Mayo and Sitanyi will invest in stocks with a projected annual dividend yield of 6%-plus.

Of the portfolio, Sitanyi said that “while constructed to produce income [it] will also still have the potential to produce significant capital appreciation from companies with both strong dividend policies and strong earnings growth.”.
