In his newly-created role Dale will be responsible for directing the firm’s business development and client activities in the UK and the rest of Europe.
Prior to joining Matthews Asia, Dale worked at Invesco Perpetual for 12 years, latterly as UK sales manager where he was in charge of the UK retail sales team.
He has also done stints with Schroders and Prudential.
Dale will report to Jonathan Schuman, head of global business development and his hire is a mark of how Matthews Asia is committed to expansion in the UK and Europe, the group said.
Schuman said: “Dale’s appointment and the opening of our business development and client service office in London reflects the strategic importance that Matthews Asia places on providing distinctive Asian investment strategies and high-quality service to our partners and investors across the UK and Europe.”
The group has seven Luxembourg-domiciled Ucits funds for European and UK investors and manages £14.9bn in assets.
